Welcome to Our Church! We meet at 10:30am on Sundays.
Jesus at the centre…
New Life Church Rugby is a vibrant, family focused, Jesus loving and Holy Spirit filled church. We exist, firstly, to bring glory to God. We intentionally build the church body by God’s Word and by growing as family together. And with purpose and vision, we reach out to the local community and the nations with the Good News of Jesus.
Three core values we seen in the bible that reflect the heartbeat of our church are:
WORSHIP | SERVICE | MISSION
Growth through the years…
New Life Church Rugby was initially a plant out from a larger church in Leicester in 1985. Until 2000 it existed in the form of a house church, meeting in the homes of the members of the congregation.
The church moved from meeting in homes and started services in Brownsover Community School, where it continued to grow and soon moved to Lawrence Sheriff School to accommodate this growth.
In 2008, the church raised finances to purchase their first building and relocated to Temple Buildings on Railway Terrace in Rugby. Again, within a relatively short time, the church needed a bigger meeting space still and moved into what was an old car dealership just over the road.
Currently we are in the process of developing our current facility and look forward to seeing what God will do with us in the near future!
Jesus at the centre…Worship
The greatest commandment given to us was “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (Matthew 22:37) – worship!
Isaiah 2:1-5 is an integral part of our vision for what we call church. The final verse talks about us as God’s people walking in the Light. Reflecting God’s glory is what we see as worship. Not just in singing of songs or preaching of the gospel but in the way we live our lives. Lives lived in the presence of the Lord – walking in the Light.
We spend time in our services singing praises to God but equally encourage every member to see the way they live their lives and give their serve to God as their worship too.
Jesus at the centre…Mission
The Great Commission was given to us “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19) – mission!
The establishing of Christ’s Kingdom is the commission that he gave his church empowered by His Spirit. We expect our church to grow and we embrace the nations. All we ask is, for the willingness of people to be taught in God’s ways and not in our own.
“In the last days, the mountain of the Lord’s house will be established…and all nations will stream to it.” (Isaiah 2:2)
Jesus at the centre…Serving
Serving the house…
“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)
We encourage every person to seek to play their part for the greater good of God’s community, building his Kingdom together. Each and every member has a place within ‘the body’ to serve. This requires us to be active in forming relationships and transforming the tools of hate and selfishness into ones love. mercy, compassion and service to others.
They will beat their swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning hooks. (Isaiah 2:4)
